Fantu just gets more confident and outgoing with each passing week. She just glows with happiness and confidence. Friday the 15th was her birthday. Her new birth certificate says she is 11, but it really should be 12. But we laugh with her and say she won't have to lie about her age when she gets older. Friday she opened her cards that morning and then a few gifts that evening. She also got to pick what she wanted for dinner - Ethiopian of course! She had a small party on Saturday with Pizza and Cake. She had so much fun! It was such a joy to see her so happy. She has a nice group of friends that enjoyed the celebrations with her. I can't believe that this quiet shy little girl from 8 months ago is now the blossoming pre-teen comic that lives with us today. She has changed so much. We get compliments constantly on how beautiful she is and what a great smile she always has.
Fantu was also named Member of the Month at Boys and Girls Club. This is given to the person that participates in activities, is polite, well behaved and upholds the character and leadership values that they teach. Way to go Fantu!
