Happy New Year - With a Twist

I spent New Years Day doing Abate's hair. He has been growing it out for the past 7 months just so he could have it styled in "Twists". Started it just before 1:00 and with few breaks we finished just after 4:00. I was wrecked. It should last a week or two.

For dinner we had our black-eye peas for good luck, also pork ribs, mixed greens, cream corn and corn bread. Kids loved the ribs, were ok with the peas, not to keen on the cream corn or greens and I knew that they didn't like cornbread. I think they are fonder of Irish food than they are southern cooking.

Well 2010 is here, wow! The past decade has been one of ups and downs. It has seen the passing of my brother Larry, my son Trevor, my Dad, and just recently my niece. But on a very joyful note there have been births and of course adoptions. I can only hope that the next year and decade are filled with great joy and little sorrow.

Happy New Year! Happy 2010!
