Superman saves Ogre!

Caleb with his favorite toys of the day. Superman had to save Shrek from a man eating (ogre eating) tiger. Mr. Potatohead and Beaker were innocent by-standers.
Caleb with the hero's after doing battle with tigers and alligators! No major loss of limbs or blood!
Caleb is getting a good collection of wild animals to go with his adventurers treehouse he got for Christmas. Other toys often join the adventure, today Superman and shrek did battle with the tiger and alligator and then rode off on the giraffe! Caleb had to pose for pictures with the hero's after they saved the day! And yes Caleb is still in his pj's. I stopped by Carrie's this morning to drop off a door I won in a drawing at our local DIY store. a lovely spanish style wood front door that would look horrible on my house but would look well on hers, so I surprised her with it. Well I can't stop be there any more and not leave without Caleb. So even though he was still in his pj's he begged to come to granmaddy's. We had a fun few hours.
I went to Austin yesterday had lunch with Andre' and did a few other errands. I had a great experience when I went to pick up the Injera I ordered from a Ethiopian restaurant there, Injera is a Ethiopian bread - kind of a sourdough pancake. The Ethiopian lady that runs the restaurant asked me how I was going to use it. I said I was going to try to make Doro Wat ( Ethiopian chicken stew). She and another lady had such a shocked looked on their faces - saying " oh really!" "Do you have any Berbere?" (berbere is a ethiopian spice blend made with red peppers) I said "no, I haven 't been able to locate it it here yet but am picking up as much as I can when I go to Addis next week." I then have to show off pictures of the kids, and they just went went nuts over them. Making me promise to bring them in real soon, they just can't wait to meet them, on and on... then they start thanking me for adopting Abate and Fantu. I was getting a bit embarrassed. They then insisted on giving me some berbere, and we discussed different ways to cook the doro wat. Her main advice is to just cook, cook, cook it. Lots of oil and onions. So by the time I left the restaurant we were all hugging. I think I know where I'll be now every time I go to Austin. It's very close to my Andre's house too. It really was a lovely feeling to have someone in the Austin Ethiopian community be so welcoming and supportive. I can't wait to take Abate and Fantu in there for a meal!
Well, there are some really nasty thunderstorms building up west of here - a few tornado's and large hail. I think I had best post this and shut down the computer. I think it may move south of us here but I'm not taking any chances. I do hear thunder! Oh I love Texas in the Spring!!!!!!!!
