Fantu saw the Orthopedic surgeon today and the news was not good. The tear is bad plus she has what is called a discoid miniscus, that is when the miniscus is half moon shaped instead of crescent shape. The extra cartilage is more prone to tears and damage. It is apparently more common in those af African descent. She will be having surgery on Wednesday morning at 7am. It will ne orthoscopic and she will be home by the afternoon. She also more than likely will develop the same problem in her other knee and will most likely require surgery in the future for it.
I will post towards the end of the week to let you know how it goes.

So sorry to hear that. She's in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing her a speedy recovery. (Keyhole surgery is pretty amazing stuff.)
