Lighter Load

Abate and Elmer have left the building, well actually the house and have moved into a dorm at HSU to begin their college life. It was a very hectic 8 months visiting schools, visiting coaches, filling out applications for admissions, scholarships, loans, and pretty much anything else you can imagine that goes along with enrolling at a university.  They both are now happily attending classes and Abate is playing soccer and Elmer is running XC and track.

So now with two out of the house and Fantu left at home (even though I sometimes wonder if she still lives here she is gone so much) I am starting to see some positive things happening...
1. There were only three loads of dirty clothes (not counting towels and linens)
2. It takes two days to fill the dishwasher.
3. I don't have to go around the house picking up dirty glasses to wash because we have run out of clean ones.
4. No Gatorade bottles littering the house.
5. Only one laptop on the breakfast bar (had been 3 recently).
6. Abate's room is now clean enough for guest to stay over.
7. No more being awakened at 2:00 am by the boys raiding the kitchen.
8. There is now room on our street for our neighbours to park their cars (at times we had 7 cars at our house) making them happier.
9. Grocery shopping just got a lo cheaper.
10. Quieter House.

But there are negatives...
1. No one to go shopping with. (Alan and Fantu are terrible shoppers).
2. I have to wash my favorite coffee mug and French press by hand since the dishwasher isn't full.
3.There is not enough room in the cabinet for all the clean glasses.
4. No sweaty hugs.
5. Leftovers... for days.
6. Empty bedroom
7. Waking at 2:00 am and worrying about the boys.
8. House looks deserted without all the cars parked there.
9. Hugs from my boys.
10. Quieter House

This is going to take some getting used to.
