30 job applications and 2 interviews....

and today I was offered a job that sounds like it will be an excellent fit.

When I applied for this position I knew I had the perfect qualifications for it. My work experiences and my job history and the duties of this job just seemed a perfect fit. But it has been so difficult to get to the interview stage and I had applied to so many jobs it was hard to get optimistic. When I was contacted last Friday to set up an interview I knew I had to make it count, one shot to sell myself and get the offer. Monday morning 9:00 am. Seventy minutes later I emerged unscathed and slightly optimistic. The hours would be a bit more than I anticipated ( classified as part-time but will probably be full-time) but it just was a job I knew I would love. The waiting began. She expected to make a decision that afternoon and would be calling soon thereafter. The afternoon passed and no call. Tuesday morning passed and no call. Time to hit the job postings again. Dang it. Then around 2:00 pm the phone rang and the job offer was mine!

So starting next week I will be the new Office Administrator at the City of Temple Civic and Convention Centers. I can hardly wait to get started!
